A Little Bit About Me
I'm a down to earth guy who has a passion for Islam, human medicine, global disparity issues, social justice and neurosurgery. I am currently applying to neurosurgery residency and InshAllah hope to get into a program within the midwest. I tend to appreciate intellectual conversations and love mentoring young kids. From the inner city classroom to the college lecture hall I have been blessed to give lectures to and mentor people my own age and younger.

Besides the serious stuff I am a person that values humor....it's an inescapable quality of mine. I tend to see serious stuff everyday so in my free time I relax with comedies, stand up routines, etc. Reading is also a hobby, since I have become a lot more busy I have pretty much transitioned to audio books and NPR, yes there is a huge nerd complex built in.

What I Am Looking For
a down to earth girl with a great sense of humor, love for Islam and someone who wants to raise a Muslim-American family....so no I'm not looking to move overseas once I get married nor am I looking to inject cultural values over Islamic ones in a marriage. For me America is just as much an Islamic country as any other, and it's our job as American Muslims to foster that image.

Also, since I am a Muslim man I am honor bound to not consider racial identity as a determining factor for a wife so I don't care what race you are, if you are a little bit older or what your skin tone is...all I care about is what's in your heart. I was raised to believe a real Muslim man does not care about social status or age or race he just cares about what's in a woman's heart, her piety and capacity to improve herself as well as motivate her husband to improve himself and grow with him is, so that's what I'm after. I grew up the oldest of four, come from a humble background and am used to taking care of the people I love, I now want to extend that love and compassion to a wife iA.

This being said please don't ask where I am from or where my family is from because I won't answer and it really shouldn't matter. If you are looking for a husband strictly based on genetic criteria that he was born with and could not control I suggest you read the story of the sahaba Julaybib (RA). I simply cannot lend support to the practice of rejecting a pious spouse because she doesn't have a certain skin tone or she doesn't share my ethnic background or she's slightly older or divorced...it's such a pathetic unIslamic practice so let's work to rid ourselves of that inshAllah.
